Catholics Stand Up To Pride Day in LA

Pride month.  Aren't you proud.  Odd.  The universal Church, I mean the Catholics, had a protest against some pride month inspired activity.  And you'll never guess where it was.  Los Angeles.  Yup, the belly of the beast.

There was a book released probably half a century or so ago called "Hollywood Babylon".  Let that sink in.

  • "The Dodgers will host their annual LGBTQ+ Pride Night at Dodger Stadium Friday, including presenting a Community Hero Award to a group of self-described "queer and trans nuns," the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, which has drawn opposition from Catholic groups and organizations.
  • Catholic leaders have organized a prayerful procession and dedicated prayers during a Friday mass to "healing due to the harm caused by the Dodgers' decision to honor a group that intentionally denigrates and profanes the Christian faith." The U.S. Conference of Bishops has urged Catholics nationwide to join the prayers."

Catholic protesters gather, march outside Dodger Stadium in opposition to Pride Night

"The Dodgers have been holding Pride Nights for 10 years, but this year's edition June 16 became entangled last month in a high-profile controversy.

Under a barrage of criticism from some conservative Catholics, the team rescinded an invitation to a satirical LGBTQ+ group called the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence to be honored at Pride Night. The Sisters' performers — mostly men who dress flamboyantly as nuns — are active in protests and charitable programs."
