The Acid Head That Ushered in DNA Testing

The good old PCR test.  We've known it recently as part of the controlyavirus test kits.  Did you know it is essential part of all the DNA tests that have been done since DNA testing actually started being in mainstream use?

The full name is polymerase chain reaction and it just gets weirder.  The guy that came up with it was a student at Berkeley who wasn't really that good of a student.  He majored in chemistry or something like that and he spent most of his time synthesizing LSD25.  Yup, he was an acid head.  Before he came up with this process it would take days and days to perform a test.

But it seems as though he was really hard to get along with and he later made some really out there claims as well.  I'll leave the rest to you.
