Dems Might Not Fight Trump's Nominees

In a shift from 2017, the Democrats seem to have calmed down a bit and aren't having a full on meltdown from President Elect Trump's victory like they did in 2016.

I mean, doesn't it actually just seem a lot calmer than 2016?  After Trump got elected last time, the media was full of disgust as they put every single action the President-Elect did then and all through his Presidency.  There was no way that he could do anything right it seemed, as every single action (and especially speech) was cherry picked and finagled around to make it seem like Trump bad.  Period.

Maybe they actually got to see what a shit show Biden gave them and are ready for a real change.  Ha!  But we'll see.

  • Democrats are changing their strategy regarding Trump Cabinet picks and are hesitant to engage in futile disputes.
  • Some Democrats, like Sen. John Fetterman, may support Trump nominees if conditions are met, like protecting Medicaid and Medicare.
  • The new approach aims to collaborate when possible and challenge nominees on ethics and qualifications.

Democrats shift tactics on Trump Cabinet picks after lessons learned from first term

"Back in 2017, Hill Democrats were shellshocked by Trump’s upset victory and pledged to oppose the GOP standard-bearer at all costs. Eight years later, “the Resistance” is vastly diminished, and the post-election recrimination process is leading Democrats to embrace a different strategy in the face of Trump’s dominance."
