This is old news by now. But it is good news for the Constitution. I wonder if it took effect soon enough for former President Trump to be added back on to the Colorado ballot. Kind of doubt it.
Even though this article focuses on Colorado, the U.S. Supreme court decision of March 4, 2024 covers all states where he has been removed from the ballot. The court reserves that states can control who for state offices.
"The Supreme Court issued a ruling on Monday that determined the state of Colorado cannot remove former President Donald Trump from the primary ballot using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
“States have no power under the Constitution to enforce Section 3 with respect to federal offices, especially the Presidency,” the Supreme Court said."
