Seems the liberal media just can't help but froth at the mouth if anyone likes to shoot guns or loves the Constitution. Groups who get together to talk about guns and being prepared for themselves are called a 'militia'.
But its more than that. We've been called everything from domestic terrorists and racists on down. There was an article a few years ago right after January 6 in the Guardian.
This author of fiction tries to make us folk sound so dangerous, but if the world really knew what goes on in these groups, they'd know that they have nothing to fear. The author even admits we're like a "rotary club". There aren't any folk who wish harm on their fellow citizens; racism and proponents of violence are quickly shunned and booted out. With a quickness.
We just want to be 'accepted' (LOL) as much as those who like to get together at shows where men dress up as women in gawdy clothes and makeup and perform.
"Last February, some 20 men and their wives gathered for dinner at an upscale restaurant in Spokane, Washington, for their annual Valentine’s Day celebration. The men weren’t just friends; they did community service work together. They had been featured on local television, in khakis and baseball caps, delivering 1,200 pounds of food to an area veterans’ center; they were gearing up for their next food drive, which they called Operation Hunger Smash. A few days after the holiday, the men went camping in the snow-speckled mountains outside Spokane, where they grilled rib-eyes and bacon-wrapped asparagus over a bonfire.
"They also engaged in more menacing activities. <snip>"
Armed and Underground: Inside the Turbulent, Secret World of an American Militia
Militia leader Scot Seddon said he'd served in Operation Desert Storm and told Army stories to AP3 members. But he didn't serve in a combat zone, joining the Army Reserve more than a year after Desert Storm ended. His active-duty tenure lasted 5 months.https://t.co/Lephg9HrKV
