The British made promises of an independent state to both the Arabs and the Jews who lived there to help them defeat the Ottomans' in the middle east. Afterwards, the Jews continued on to building a state, with folk that the British could work with but were frustrated because they couldn't get the Arabs to agree on anything enough except who was going to be the baddest on getting rid of the Jews. Tribal I think is how that could be described.
So, after they lost their asses in the war(s) they'd been offered a everything they have demanded, and step back and decide to pout when they demand more instead every single time. Even former President Bill Clinton will tell you so. I mean, the Oslo gave Arafat fucking everything he wanted, and then he welshed on the deal.
Because folks, at the end of the day, when anyone who is pro Palestinian says, "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!" They mean the extermination of the nation of Israel and the Jews.
