As Democratic Politicians tirelessly trudge down the road leading to gun confiscation, as we know, many could care less about the Constitution. Here, we find New Mexico's governor caring less about even her own state's.
The New Mexico Constitution in Article Two, Section 6, it states:
Notice the part I underlined. That is usually called the state pre-emptive clause, meaning the laws are supposedly uniform throughout the state and you don't have to check local laws. Maybe it doesn't count if it is at the Governor's command for a city or county to have different laws than the state at large. Oh wait, she called it a "public health emergency". So, like the controlyavirus, the Constitution does in fact go out the window.
And that is what they got out of the Controlyavirus.
"New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has declared gun violence and drug abuse a public health emergency after a string of recent deadly shootings, some involving children.
"The emergency order includes the suspension of open and concealed carry laws in Albuquerque and Bernalillo County, temporarily banning the carrying of guns on public property with certain exceptions, according to a statement from Lujan Grisham on Friday.
"The order also prohibits firearms on state property, including state buildings and schools, as well as parks and other places where children gather.
"Under the order, licensed firearm dealers will be inspected monthly by New Mexico’s Regulation and Licensing Division to ensure compliance with sales and storage laws."
New Mexico governor orders suspension of open and concealed carry of guns in Albuquerque
Further down in the above article it states that not all Law Enforcement throughout the state thinks it is a good idea. Neither did these folks:
"New Mexico gun owners turned out in force on Sunday to show the state’s governor Lujan Grisham that they will not comply with her executive order ‘suspending’ their Constitutional rights in the state."

And now much of it has been struck down in a Federal court:
"The ruling Wednesday by U.S. District Judge David Urias marks a setback for Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham as she responds to several recent shootings that took the lives of children, including an 11-year-old boy as he left a minor league baseball game in Albuquerque. -AP"
