Trump is Not The First To Make Cuts

Trump is Not The First To Make Cuts

TDSMDS.  I am damned sick of the lies and hypocrisy.  President Trump is not the first President to run on and then implement cutbacks and effeciancy in the federal octopus we call the .gov.

It's like, does anyone actually know history anymore?  Is their attention span long enough anymore is the problem.

Face it.  It is all about Trump.  When Clinton and Obama cut waste and ineffeciancies in the government, it was cool.  But if President Trump wants to do it, it is not.  You'll see the media twist and turn and spew out their usual word salad to tell you why Trump is so evil.

Ahh, but I do see the big differences.  Clinton and Obama both put their Vice-Presidents in charge of it.  Now that's some things that can make you go Hmmmm . . . . .

"A new administration swept into Washington and announced plans to shake it up, using corporate know-how and new technology to streamline the federal bureaucracy.  It offered millions of government employees buyouts and slashed costs to balance the budget.

"But the biggest effort to overhaul the federal government in modern history actually was 30 years ago under a Democratic administration. It was then-President Bill Clinton’s “ Reinventing Government ” initiative, under the control of his vice president, Al Gore."

Trump and Musk aren’t the first to make deep cuts. Clinton-era Reinventing Government saved billions

"WASHINGTON, DC – This morning, President Obama will sign an Executive Order that will cut waste and promote more efficient spending across the federal government.  With this Order, the President is directing agencies to reduce spending on travel; limit the number of information technology devices (e.g. cell phones, smartphones, tablets, laptops) that can be issued to individual employees; stop unnecessarily printing documents that can be posted online; shrink the executive fleet of the federal government; and stop using taxpayer dollars to buy swag -- the plaques, clothing, and other unnecessary promotional items that agencies purchase. Overall spending in the areas covered by the Executive Order will be reduced by 20 percent, saving billions."

Hey look.  Obama cut Medicare!!!

"As part of his balanced approach to deficit reduction, the President has signed $1 trillion in discretionary spending cuts into law through the Budget Control Act, and his budget calls for more than $340 billion in entitlement savings from Medicare and Medicaid, and $250 billion from other mandatory programs."

President Obama's Record and Proposals for Cutting Spending

"But how does it fit in with the historical picture? Let’s start with what the president has the most control over: There have been three modern episodes in which federal employees have been cut during a presidential administration: the post-World War II demobilization under president Harry S Truman (1945-53); the Cold War peace dividend and budget cuts under president Clinton (1992-2000); and now Obama, who has downsized the federal government during the recession."

Barack Obama has shrunk the US federal workforce more than Ronald Reagan

This below is to the official Whitehouse.gov site where former President Obama lays out his plan, in a video, to reduce the size of the federal .gov:

Campaign to Cut Waste

I guess even though Obama wanted to close all these unused spaces, maybe Joe kept them opne?
