- The sanctioned groups include Al Weam Charitable Society operating out of Gaza, Filistin Vakfi from Turkey, as well as organizations linked to Hamas and PFLP based in Algeria, the Netherlands, and Italy.
- Deputy Secretary Michael Faulkender highlighted that the measures taken today are crucial to preventing terrorist groups such as Hamas and the PFLP from exploiting charitable organizations for funding their activities.
- The Treasury plans continued efforts to disrupt Hamas’s financial networks amid challenges posed by legitimate crowdfunding used as fronts for illicit funding.
