The man who fought the law and won, Ammon Bundy. Most have heard of him, many could care less, but I have to admit, he sure made some statements. He wasn't wrong. But the media painted him as the worst.
A few years ago, while he lived in Idaho, there was a case where a hospital in Boise called CPS to separate a mother from her child because they said the child was malnourished. I have to wonder if Ammon would have done this if that were true.
"BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A major Boise hospital went on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday after far-right activist Ammon Bundy urged supporters to go the facility in protest of a child protection case involving one of his family friends.
"A few dozen protesters stationed themselves outside various hospital doors and buildings, some speculating on social media about whether the facility could be accessed via underground tunnels. The protesters appeared to mostly stay on sidewalks, however, and the lockdown was lifted shortly before 3 p.m."
Idaho hospital locks down amid far-right call for protest
So, the hospital 'locked down' for about an hour, there were a few dozen protestors who stayed on the sidewalks and didn't block anybody, nor was there any violence at all. No damages what so ever.
The hospital in return filed a $52.6 million lawsuit against Ammon and a few others for defamation and loss of business. For over reacting to a peaceful protest and locking themselves down for an hour. Ammon figured it was bullshit and didn't participate. Last I checked, that results in a defaulted judgement. But the hospital, probably with some urging form certain federal politicians, pursued arrest warrants and all kinds of harassment. Ammon finally just left Idaho and shook the dust off his feet.
Say what you will about Ammon Bundy, but don't call him a chickenshit.
"For a wanted man, supposedly hiding from police, Ammon Bundy isn’t all that difficult to find.
"On a snowy March morning in southern Utah, the 49-year-old fugitive emerged from behind his pickup truck sporting his trademark beard and cowboy hat. Despite being on the run from Idaho police after fleeing trial on a contempt of court charge and on the hook for part of a $52.5 million judgment, he is surprisingly relaxed and blithely unconcerned about the ever-looming threat of arrest."
