Panic at the DOJ, FBI, and Elsewhere in the Deep State

Donald J Trump has been again elected to President of the United States.  Since then a flurry of news, cabinet appointments and even one step down already, but more is the flurry of activity in the deep state.

There is a lot to 'unpack' here, since instead of writing each of these up, I collected them to see them as a whole.  I did single out the fact that the crooked Judge Merchan (see forth article below) is still seemingly planning on sentencing President Elect Trump on November 26, 2024.  otherwise, just look at the fear and loathing going on.

In this first article, take a look at the third paragraph I quoted below.  He says, "but this is a different world". And if he wonders who created this different world, all he need to do is look in the damned mirror.

"Multiple current and former senior Justice Department and FBI officials have begun reaching out to lawyers in anticipation of being criminally investigated by the Trump administration, according to three people with knowledge of their deliberations.

Following Trump’s decisive election victory, many Justice Department officials and career staffers were already nervous about the possibility that they would be targeted by Trump loyalists, particularly members of Congress. But the selection of former Rep. Matt Gaetz, a firebrand Trump ally who was the subject of a recent FBI investigation, to lead the department has sharply increased the sense of alarm, the sources said."

“Everything we did was aboveboard,” said a former senior FBI official who has started contacting lawyers because he expects to be prosecuted himself. “But this is a different world.”

  • Trump requested Senate Republicans to stop confirming President Biden's judicial nominees before the inauguration in January.
  • He stated that the "Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door."

  • Jack Smith plans to step down as special counsel before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, as confirmed by a DOJ official familiar with discussions.
  • Smith aims to end the two criminal cases he brought against Trump and complete the report before Trump's inauguration.
  • The New York Times reported that Smith's goal is to finish his work before Trump can act on his promise to fire him.

"EXCLUSIVE: America First Legal (AFL) is suing New York State Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan for refusing to turn over his financial disclosures amid questions about his daughter’s work at a Democratic firm, Fox News Digital has learned.

"AFL sued Merchan, who presided over former President Donald Trump’s six-week-long trial in New York v. Trump, stemming from the yearslong investigation out of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. They also sued the New York State Unified Court System’s Ethics Commission."

"Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo is on an urgent mission: get as much high-tech spending out the door before Donald Trump takes office.

"The Biden administration is aiming to commit nearly every unspent dollar in its $50 billion microchip-subsidy program before President-elect Donald Trump takes over in January, an effort that would effectively cement a massive industrial legacy before the GOP can reverse course."

"Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is once again asking a federal court to issue an emergency order directing the U.S. Department of Justice to preserve all of the records and documents in connection with special counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into President-elect Donald Trump . Paxton’s latest request comes after he claimed that a “paper shredding truck” was parked in front of the DOJ headquarters.

"Paxton filed the reply motion seeking a preservation or temporary restraining order Thursday in the Amarillo Division of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas."

'Paper shredding truck' outside DOJ means court must order Jack Smith to preserve records from 'abomination' of investigation into Trump, Ken Paxton says

"Top members of the Senate Homeland Security Committee rebuked DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and FBI Director Christopher Wray for skipping an end-of-year public hearing on Thursday.

"Committee Chairman Gary Peters said Mayorkas and Wray's refusal to appear is a "shocking departure" from the 15-year tradition of holding the annual hearing on worldwide threats. In a statement to Fox News Digital, the FBI argued that Wray and other officials have already "testified extensively" in public about threats facing the U.S., and that the bureau "has repeatedly demonstrated our commitment to responding to Congressional oversight and being transparent with the American people.""
